Sport Specific
No matter what your sport is football, cheerleading, basketball, baseball,
wrestling, soccer, golf, etc., CST has a program to help you gain the competitive
edge. Champion Sports Training’s mission is not to target the sport,
but identify the components needed for a particular sport and implement
a program that places major emphasis on improving speed, power, strength,
agility, flexibility and injury prevention .
Speed
Speed kills and with CST’s speed program, we guarantee results.
We don’t just sprint to get faster, we coach to get faster. From
proper hand/arm position to foot placement, proper form running is sometimes
difficult to learn but very rewarding when mastered. There are numerous
drills that CST has incorporated into its speed program that has shown
proven and effective results. Such drills include: running arms, partner
starts, resisted running and overspeed running.
Power
Power is a key component of many different sports. Becoming an “explosive
athlete” is the goal of CST’s power program. CST incorporates
beginning level to advanced level plyometrics as well as medicine ball
activities to achieve the goal of gaining total body power. Although
being explosive is the outcome desired when putting the body through
a series of hops, skips, jumps, leaps, and bounds, CST utilizes it’s
plyometric and jump training program to teach the importance of injury
prevention with it’s athletes. Teaching the body “how to
land” is very important to prevent ankle, knee and hip injuries
and to stay off the bench and in the game.
Strength
CST recognizes that Strength training is a key component in all athletics.
Strength training enhances the athlete’s ability to progress to
the next level and helps the athlete perform in even the most strenuous
activities. CST’s strength training program incorporates multi-joint
resistance exercises designed to target the body’s core muscles
that are not only essential for performance but also injury prevention.
Such exercises include: Squats, Step-ups, Lunges, Rows, Abdominal Crunches,
etc.
Agility
CST’s agility program implements linear, lateral and multi-directional
cone activities to develop advanced motor skills, muscle education and
sport-specific movement patterns.
Such activities include: T-drill, Pro-Agility, 5-10-5’s, Dot-Drill,
L-Drill, etc.
Flexibilty & Mobility
CST’s active dynamic mobility routine in the beginning of each
workout helps the athlete to warm-up and reduce the chances of injury.
CST’s flexibility routine to conclude the workouts are designed
to increase flexibility, decrease muscle soreness and enable the body
to return to a resting state.
